MI-BOX has three different sized containers; 8′, 16′, and 20′ in length. Each are approximately 8′ wide x 8′ high.

Generally, a 20′ MI-BOX container will hold the contents of 4-5 rooms of household goods. A 16’ MI-BOX container will hold the contents from the main living areas of a 3-4 bedroom home. An 8’ MI-BOX container will hold the contents of a dorm room, a garage, or seasonal items.

Sofas and other large items will easily fit in a MI-BOX storage container.

While the MI-BOX patented LEVELIFT can lift up to 10,000 lb, most of our customers typically get 4,000 to 5,000 lb in the storage container due to item sizes and packing constraints.

If you load your MI-BOX container with typical household items, you are not likely to exceed the 10,000 lb weight limit.

However, if your storage needs include lots of books, magazines, tools, tool chests or other heavy items, be careful to not exceed the maximum weight. You may not be able to use the entire container’s available space.

With fiberglass-reinforced plywood walls and galvanized steel framing, MI-BOX self storage containers offer a superior option to average portable storage containers.

MI-BOX containers are weatherproof, with a translucent roof that lets in light, making it easier for you to see while loading.

For convenience, safety and security, we recommend placing your MI-BOX container in your driveway or parking space whenever possible.

Placement on the street or in the yard is another option. In either case, you are responsible for obtaining any necessary permits and complying with any and all local ordinances.

You can keep a MI-BOX at your residence or have us store it at one of our secure, temperature-controlled storage centers.

​You can make arrangements to have your MI-BOX delivered to your residence, or you may schedule a time to access your belongings at your local MI-BOX storage center. Please schedule storage facility visits 24 hours in advance.

You are responsible for securing your items while in the storage container at your residence. Often, your homeowners insurance will provide coverage while at your residence and in transit; we recommend you check your policy.

Absolutely. Many of our independent locations also are professional full service moving companies; they offer packing, loading services and long distance moving. Other locations work closely with professional packaging service companies who can assist you.

MI-BOX locations also sell a complete line of packing supplies to assist your moving needs. Moving blankets, boxes, bubble wrap, packing tape, and wardrobe boxes are a great way to protect your valuables.

You may pay using your Visa® or Mastercard® credit card (Discover® or American Express® accepted at most facilities). Check and cash will also be accepted.

You will be charged for the initial services when your MI-BOX is delivered to your residence. If you keep a MI-BOX container longer than a month, you will be charged an additional month’s rent for each subsequent month of rental.

Other charges, such as returning the storage container to your residence from warehouse storage, may also be billed at a later date (based on when the service is performed).
